Thomas Harvey MD is a fellowship-trained eye surgeon, Board Certified in Ophthalmology and licensed in Wisconsin.
Dr. Harvey is also the Medical Monitor for a major intraocular lens company and consults with multiple other companies in the field of ophthalmology. He speaks at national ophthalmic eye conferences including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
During the Spring of 2002, 2003, and 2004, Dr. Harvey served as a member of a missionary surgical team in Juticalpa, Honduras. In 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, led a team of doctors on medical missions to Vietnam through the AmeriNam organization. In 2013, Dr. Harvey sponsored an observer trip for Dr. Hai here in the Chippewa Valley.
Dr. Harvey is a member of several organizations and sits on several of their boards and review committees. These groups include: the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Vanguard Ophthalmology Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Wisconsin State Medical Society.
EXPERIENCE: 25+ Years
Dr. McCanna was born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin. He received a bachelor in science with a chemistry degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana and then attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following a year of internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital/Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital/Thomas Jefferson University in the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. McCanna joined the Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic in Chippewa in 1995 and continues as an assistant clinical professor for the family practice residents of the Prevea Health Family Medicine/University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Dr McCanna has been performing modern cataract surgery for over 25 years helping the people of the Chippewa Valley. He only uses up-to-date technology and helps patients choose what’s best for them. He offers premium inocular lenses when indicated and provides a thorough and safe surgical experience. He treats glaucoma with medications, laser, and minimally invasive surgery. In addition, Dr, McCanna can treat macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy as well as other retinal diseases.
Independent Surgery Center is staffed by a highly trained and experienced team of nurses and technicians, as well as business office professionals.
